Cities:

Athens Alabama - The city of Athens is completely inside of Limestone County.   The city of Athens has its own school system.  More information on Athens Alabama New Homes.

Madison Alabama - The city of Madison is part in Limestone County and part in Madison County.   The city of Madison has outstanding schools.   In fact Bob Jones high school is within the top 5% in the nation.   The city of Madison is very close to Research Park and Redstone Arsenal.  The homes in the City of Madison are typically higher priced because of the schools and proximity.  More information on Madison Alabama New Homes.

Huntsville Alabama - The city of Huntsville extends into Limestone County.   Currently the school district for Huntsville properties in Limestone County is Providence and Colombia.   These schools are a long distance from Limestone County.   Buyers should research these properties very carefully.   Note:  Huntsville has plans to build new schools in Limestone County over the next five years.

Decatur Alabama - The city of Decatur has some land in Limestone County but the majority of it is commercial.

 

 


 

 

 

 

 

 

Communities:  

East Limestone Alabama - The East Limestone community is located on the east side of Limestone County as the name suggests making in close to Research Park and Redstone Arsenal.  This is the fastest growing part of Limestone County.   The schools are Creekside Elementary and East Limestone High Schools.   I think the East Limestone schools are excellent (of course I could be biased since that is where my children go).   Home prices in the East Limestone are priced more reasonable than Madison.  Legacy Home Group represents two major subdivisions in the East Limestone area (click for Google map)

Ardmore Alabama – The Ardmore community is located in north east part of Limestone County.  The primary road into Research Park or Redstone Arsenal is highway 53.   Much of this road is still two lanes so it can be crowded at times.   If you are looking for a mini-farm or a larger tract of land this is the area for you.   The schools are Ardmore High School , Cedar Hill Elementary School and Johnson Elementary.   

Tanner Alabama – The Tanner school district is located in the south east part of Limestone County.   Much of the land in this community is still farm land.   Tanner High School is located west of Interstate 65.   Because the school is an older school and located in the opposite direction much of this land has not been developed.   This has created the opportunity for other cities to annex property.   In fact 1000’s of acres have been annexed into the Madison Alabama and Huntsville Alabama since February 2008.   Because so much of the land can be annexed land prices have increased in this area.
